Get ur pupils to upstairs or just show a model of it.Centre of it,mark '0'.Upstairs to 0,mark +1,+2,+3...on each step.Similarly,downstairs to 0,mark -1,-2,-3....respctly..It could b easy to understand.Just get off frm Classic.Be innovative..
